Growing Old

Life Is Unfair

It doesn’t seem fair sometimes when I think about my life, I had so many things going for me, but I was repeatedly flattened like kryptonite. I worked for school system and developed a database which integrated their payroll in time and substitute pay payroll and new time off record. First I had to calibrate all the time off and make sure that a job with the teachers and custodians and whoever got paid. The bottom line is it works so well that the business teacher called me into his next job, which was assistant superintendent and had me install the system there. When he moved to another school system, he called me in and had me install it there as well and finally he moved to switch jobs again called me again at this time he wanted me to rewrite it using Microsoft access. Had I held my own spoke up and said no I don’t do Microsoft that I wrote this using algorithms within FileMaker Pro and I didn’t do that. I couldn’t do the job in my hot tub just walking away. Seemed to be the way in my life.

I started a business called mOUSE in the hOUSE, Inc., which was mainly computer training for dummies. I don’t mean that in a bad way just like the book. Computers are dummies kind of way. Well after I left the job at the school system because my boss thought it was important and I clock in and out at the exact time which I don’t do. I told him when I started I don’t do that.

Despite the fact that I went in there for months and months very early skip lunch is working straight through and stayed late. It didn’t matter. You still wanted me there at 8 o’clock not a minute past it’s not like I was keeping track of my time but in my head I knew that I was working 60 hours getting paid 40 and this person told me I had to work 48 to 4 to be specific  this is the same man who part of my job is to help him with Microsoft Excel.

He’s a business director, but he was computer illiterate let alone needed more than a traffic map to get around Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets in general. So not only did I set up the budget for the year which set up incorrectly and fixed them integrated them and made them so it was easy to generate reports I put in buttons for dummies that invoked macros I pretty much did this man’s job my own job, which is payroll helped the superintendent, train the teachers and created this massive integrated database that was up to the limit accurate with my guaranteed integrity because of all the work I put in to get it there. So when I was told, I had to work specific hours because it didn’t look good to the other people who the other people I worked with by the way knew all the work that I Did. I was highly offended and refused to work for someone like that and I quit a week later. Well that’s not entirely accurate. It was probably more like a couple months because it took me that long to line up all the teachers with kids to start my own daycare from home which is what I did why shouldn’t my kids to daycare when I could set up my own.
